ABOUT ME

I moved to Oakland 10 years ago from the San Jose area to be part of the diversity and social justice movements that are core values to many in the East Bay.

In my 20 years of working in the mental health field, I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients and invite in dialogue around anti-racism and all other forms of discrimination. In an effort to address the harm that is intentionally and unintentionally caused when the privileges of one person, neglect the reality of the other. I value and encourage these discussions in my work with clients as something we all must face and challenge in our lives.

I believe everyone has the right to love whomever their heart is attracted to and the experience of being judged for this, or for other differences, is deeply wounding to the individual and our world.

I am personable and relatable in my therapeutic approach. My clients describe being excited for their therapy day, as a gift of self-care they benefit from. Humor is as welcomed as tears. While therapy is not a magic wand that wipes away all heartache, it is an experience where you will learn to appreciate both your pain and laughter.

My hope is you will become more attuned and capable of feeling your full emotional spectrum as a gift, and not an overwhelming experience.
